New navel roads that will bring a revolution in shipping are being opened in the Arctic due to the ice melting from the climate change.

The greenhouse effect “released” of any ice this year, the Northwest Passage that unites the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, allowing countries with territorial rights over the area – Russia, Norway, Denmark, Canada and the United States of America – to take advantage of the rich deposits.

Research has shown that 25% of the remaining deposits in oil and natural gas on the planet, are still hidden in the Arctic.

Facts

According to facts of the European Agency of Space from 200 satellite photos collected during the last month, the passage between north Canada, Alaska and Greenland is now not covered by ice. The frozen stretches in the area have reached the lower point in comparison with photos taken in 1978.

Ice bergs of the Arctic cover today a stretch of 4.2 million square kilometers, about the same size as half of the USA.

In September of 2005, the frozen surface was estimated at 5.3 million square kilometers, meaning it was 20% larger than it is today.

Most scientists agree that ice will disappear in the Arctic, during summer months, with an accelerating pace after the year 2070, nevertheless, according to new facts, this could be possible even from 2030.
